Forget traffic jams and alarm clocks – here at Basangoma, the only “rush hour” is when the wildebeest decide to cross the veld together.
We’ve got enough antelope species to start a rugby team (and a backup squad). From Kudu and Eland to Springbuck (yes, even the fancy black ones), plus Giraffe, Zebra, and the odd Bushpig who thinks he owns the place – you’ll never be short of someone to stare at.
And just when you thought it was safe to relax by the dam… here come our resident Hippos. They may look like oversized water balloons with legs, but don’t be fooled – they’re the true landlords of the waterhole. Whether they’re yawning wide enough to swallow a Land Cruiser or giving you the side-eye from under the water, they keep things interesting.
Oh, and did we mention the Bomb Squad? Cape Buffalo call this home too – basically our bouncers, keeping things wild.
Predators? Yep, they pop in now and then. Jackal, hyena, caracal… and if you’re really lucky, you might just meet a pangolin or honey badger (but only if they’re in the mood – they’ve got attitude).
Bird lovers – bring binoculars. With over 200 species flapping around, from secretary birds strutting their stuff to kingfishers flashing their colours, it’s basically nature’s version of Netflix. Subscription included in your stay.
So, pack your bags, bring your sense of adventure, and come see why Basangoma Game Ranch is where the bush shows off its best side.
