Basangoma’s Manager and Professional Hunter.
Born, so to speak, on Basangoma, he’s basically part of the soil (don’t try to pull him out!). Hugo’s love for the bush started young, learning tricks from his dad and a few professional hunters who probably spent half their time wondering if he’d ever sit still – spoiler: he didn’t. He knows the African landscape and animals like the back of his hand.
Chantell van Wyk
The voice of Basangoma!
If you’ve ever Called, Emailed, or Messaged us, chances are you’ve already met Chantell. She’s the efficient wizard behind all reservations and guest info – making sure your questions are answered, your dates are locked in, and your stay runs smoothly from the very first “Hello.” Chantell turns the
admin into pure magic, so all you need to worry about is having a good time at Basangoma.
Reece Pieters
Our Professional Hunter, and the kind of guy who makes you feel right at home in the bush.
With his friendly, relaxed personality and that trademark grin, he’s as quick to share a laugh as he is to spot fresh tracks in the sand. After his apprenticeship and a few hunts, he’s earned both his stripes and his stories. In short: if you need someone dependable, Reece is your guy.

The game guards who keep both guests and wildlife safe. With their sharp eyes and a calm presence, they are the kind of guides who spot an animal long before anyone else does. They also take pride in watching over our grounds and ensuring harmony between people and nature.
