Accommodation
Basangoma offers a luxury chalet with spectacular 360° bushveld views — visible from both bedrooms, the patios, and the open-plan kitchen/lounge. It’s the best of both worlds: comfort and style in the middle of the wild.
The Chalet Includes:
2 Bedrooms: One for the “grown-ups” (Queen), one for the “spare humans” (2 singles), both en-suite — no bathroom battles here.
Private patios with sliding doors – ideal for that sneaky sunrise coffee.
Fully equipped kitchen/lounge: gas hob, microwave, air fryer, kettle, toaster, fridge/freezer, and all utensils. (If you can’t cook here, it’s not the kitchen’s fault.)
Comforts included: Bed linen, bath towels, soaps, dishwashing liquid, and cloths. (Bring your own swimming towel unless drip-drying is your thing.)
Wi-Fi + Smart TV, fireplace (wood supplied), and a covered patio with built-in braai. Because food tastes better with smoke.
Optional cleaning service (3 hrs/day, extra fee). For those who believe holidays should be 100% chore-free.
Power Note: The chalet has electricity, but Eskom sometimes has mood swings. We provide candles & emergency lights but bring a flashlight if you want the “safari vibe.”
Campsite
Pitch your tent, plug in, and let the bush do the rest.
Electricity – charge your phone so you can still pretend you’re “roughing it.”
Hot showers & toilets – because not everyone thinks a bucket under a tree is fun.
Kitchen/Dishwash area – bring your own pots, or get creative with a stick and some foil. Double zinc, because even in the bush, dishes don’t do themselves.
Dining area – where meals, laughs, and braai tong debates happen.
Braai/Kuier Boma – where smoke, laughter, and questionable ghost stories meet under the stars.
What To Do at Basangoma (Besides Nap on the Patio)

Bird Watching – Point at something with feathers and say, “Wow, look at that one!”
Walking – Basically a game drive without the car.
Camping Excursions – Quality bonding time (with optional marshmallow-burning lessons).
Guided Game Drives – With a ranger who actually knows what they’re talking about. Way better than guessing.
Fishing – The patience game. Land a big one = bragging rights. Don’t? Sundowner time. Win-win.
Photography – Giraffes posing like runway models, zebras in matching outfits, and buffalo photobombing. Sunsets here don’t need filters.
Picnic @ The Picnic Tree – Cooler box, braai, sundowner skies, and yes… a proper outside loo (long-drop with more air than walls). Bushveld luxury.
Just Chill – “Stoep sit”, Cold drink, Zero guilt. The ultimate Safari activity.
